Activity: One of the most active volcanoes in the world. Mt. Stromboli is currently having lava flows. The most severe eruptions on record happened in 1919,1930, and 2005.
Visitors flock to the beautiful Aeolian Islands to witness the mostly harmless and exiting volcano named Stromboli. The Volcano was named for a type of eruption called Strombolian. Mt. Stromboli has been nicknamed "the lighthouse of the Mediterranean" due to its constant eruptions. Many tourists come to Stromboli or the island that Mt. Stromboli is located on to relax on its great Mediterranean climate. This includes lush vegetation, warm beaches, Italian Architecture, and of course Mt. Stromboli.
